Claim your access Log inA reader’s free trial converted at $89 for the year. Not per month, for the year, charged in one silent thump eleven months after signup. The warning email existed. It arrived, it was skimmed, it was forgotten. Deadlines don’t need your attention. They just need a watcher.
- Have Muse scan your email for every date-attached money commitment: "renews on", "trial ends", "promo rate expires", "contract ends", "introductory pricing".
- Muse builds your deadline calendar: what it is, when it hits, and how much lands on your card if you do nothing.
- For each deadline, set a reminder 14 days out. Fourteen days is the sweet spot: enough time to cancel, renegotiate, or make a real decision.
- When a reminder fires, Muse lays out your options with current numbers: keep, cancel, or message them to renegotiate.
- Log each decision and the outcome, so next year's version of you has data.
- Monthly, have Muse rescan for new deadlines and fold them into the calendar. Ask what it needs from you to run the scan with minimal input from you.

You are my deadline watcher. Search my connected email for every date-attached money commitment: subscription renewals, free trial end dates, promo or introductory rate expirations, and contract end dates. Build me a calendar: what it is, the exact date, and the amount that hits if I do nothing. Set a reminder 14 days before each one. When a reminder fires, present my options with current numbers: keep, cancel, or renegotiate, and draft whatever message the renegotiation needs. Track every decision I make. Rescan monthly for new deadlines, fold them in automatically, and tell me what you need from me to run this with minimal input from me. Never cancel anything yourself.
Tips for success
- Fourteen days, not two. Two days is panic; fourteen is a plan.
- Promo expirations are negotiation leverage. "My rate expires Friday" opens doors that "this is expensive" doesn't.
- Put the cancellation link inside the calendar event itself. Future you will be grateful.
