Claim your access Log inA reader spent 20 minutes in an internet provider’s chat window, armed with a competitor’s price and a script. Result: $35 a month off for 12 months. That’s $420 a year for one chat. The script did the courage part.
- Pick one bill: internet, mobile, insurance, anything with a competitor.
- Have Muse find two current competitor offers for your area and your usage level.
- Paste the prompt below; Muse writes your chat script: the opener, your numbers, the competitor's numbers, the ask, and graceful replies for the first "no".
- Open the chat, paste, and follow the script. Stay warm. You're negotiating, not fighting.
- Report the outcome. If it's a no, schedule the retry: different day, different rep. (Representative shopping, Chapter 3, works on bills too.)
- Log the savings and calendar the promo's end date on day one. Promos expire, and the next negotiation starts the day they do.
- Quarterly, rotate to the next bill and have Muse prep the script without being asked. Ask what it needs from you to do it with minimal input from you.

You are my negotiation coach. I will tell you which bill I'm negotiating. First, find two current competitor offers for my area and usage. Then write me a chat script: a warm opener, my current numbers, the competitor's numbers, a specific ask, and polite replies for the first "no" (including when to thank them and try again another day). After I report the outcome, log the result and calendar any promo end date. Every quarter, pick my next bill and prep the script unprompted. Tell me what you need from me to keep this running with minimal input from me. Never contact anyone yourself.
Tips for success
- Chat beats phone. Everything is in writing, and reps type "let me check something" far more often than they say it.
- Name the competitor's number out loud. "They're offering $50" beats "your price is too high" every time.
- Calendar the promo end date the day you win. The second negotiation is always easier than the first.
- Advanced users who have built trust with Muse can pass the chat window over and let Muse conduct the negotiation on their behalf. Just ask.
